Dear Patient,

Our goal is for you to recover as quickly as possible and return to your daily life. During your stay at the AG European Eye Diseases Center, we strongly ask that you and your visitors and companions adhere to the following rules, both to facilitate your treatment and to assist us. The need for a companion is determined by the patient’s doctor.

  • Please do not bring outside food to ensure you receive treatment in a healthy environment and to maintain the cleanliness and order of our medical center.
  • Support staff will be available to assist you with your daily needs.
  • Please do not operate any devices in your room—such as the electric bed and air conditioner—other than as instructed, to ensure you receive treatment in a comfortable and relaxing environment.
  • Do not use electric heaters or stoves in patient rooms.
  • Please dispose of your personal trash in the trash can; under no circumstances should you throw trash from balconies or windows into the medical center’s garden.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited within our Medical Center. Those who fail to comply with this rule will be subject to the same penalties applied to individuals who smoke in enclosed areas.
  • To ensure that treatment and care services are not disrupted, please do not leave the ward without permission from the Ward Nurse. Necessary measures will be taken against patients who repeatedly violate this rule.
  • Caregivers may use the visitor chairs in patient rooms and the offices in the wards for resting.
  • We have a prayer room at our medical center so that you can fulfill your religious obligations.
  • Patients and their companions must respect the rights of other patients and visitors.

WHY VISIT A PATIENT?

When done properly, visiting a patient—a fine example of social solidarity—can boost your loved one’s spirits and have a positive impact on their recovery.

It also keeps you informed about your patient's condition.

  • For the health and safety of your children, children under the age of 12 will not be admitted.

CONSULTATION HOURS AT OUR MEDICAL CENTER

  • Every weekday;
  • Examination Start Time: 8:30 AM
  • Last Appointment Time: 6:30 PM

∅ In accordance with Law No. 4207, smoking is strictly prohibited for patients, attendants, and visitors at our Medical Center.

Points to Consider When Accompanying a Patient

  • Please do not insist on visiting a patient in special circumstances where the doctor has not given permission.
  • Please visit patients during visiting hours.
  • Please keep your visit brief. (Preferably no more than 10 minutes)
  • During your visit, please avoid saying or doing anything that might upset your patient.
  • Children under the age of 12, people with chronic illnesses, those susceptible to infection, and those with contagious illnesses (such as fever, cough, or flu-like symptoms) should not visit patients.
  • Visits to patients are limited to two (2) people at a time, which is of great importance for the patient’s health.
  • Please do not speak so loudly as to disturb other patients.
  • For the sake of your patient’s and your own health, please do not sit on the hospital beds. Please do not touch anything while you are in our Medical Center. Please wash your hands before and after your visit.
  • Please remember that interventions you perform with good intentions can harm your patient.
  • Please do not bring food as a gift when visiting. We provide all food requirements for our patients as determined by their treatment plans. Each patient has diet and food restrictions specific to their health condition. Food brought from outside may disrupt the treatment plan. Therefore, bringing food from outside may complicate our patients’ treatments and delay their recovery. For this reason, please do not bring any food or beverages.
  • Please do not bring fresh flowers for our patients due to the risk of allergies.
  • Please do not litter during your visit.
  • Please do not request a visit outside of visiting hours.
  • Please leave the patient rooms at the end of visiting hours without waiting for staff to ask you to do so.

♣ Dear Visitors;

Please remember that the following rules are important for the health of the patients you are visiting, other visitors, and yourself. By following these rules, your loved one will be able to return to you sooner.

Points to Consider When Accompanying a Patient

  • At our medical center, we do not allow visitors except for patients aged 0–14, patients over the age of 75, and patients with mental health issues.
  • Whether the patient needs an attendant is determined by the patient's doctor.
  • The number of companions is limited to one person. A companion pass is issued for the companion.
  • Parents accompanying sick children must not leave their children’s side and must not remove their visitor badges while on the medical center premises.
  • The attending physician should not be present with the patient during rounds or medical care. The physician assists with the patient’s care to the extent permitted.
  • For your health, please do not allow your family members to sit or lie on your hospital bed, and do not allow visitors to stay in your room for long periods of time.
  • For your safety, security personnel may search your visitors’ bags and, in suspicious situations, their persons. Please cooperate with the security personnel in this regard.
  • If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or are currently taking any medications when you are admitted to our Medical Center, please inform your doctor. Be sure to hand over any medications you have been taking to your nurse.
  • Do not carry any valuables or money with you unless you absolutely need it.
  • To prevent an infection from developing at the surgical site, be sure to take a shower the night before your surgery.
  • After you are discharged, be sure to visit the follow-up clinic at the facility where you received treatment. When you come for your follow-up visit, be sure to bring your medical record, official documents, and discharge summary with you.
  • You can submit your requests and complaints by placing them in the suggestion boxes.

GUIDELINES FOR VISITING CHILD PATIENTS

  • Visits by siblings and friends are permitted for pediatric patients, provided they adhere to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health (excluding patients diagnosed with COVID-19).
  • Children with symptoms or a history of exposure to illness (fever, rash, runny nose, cough, etc.) are not permitted to visit the medical center.
  • There is no reason to avoid visits from children who have no history of exposure or symptoms of an active infection.
  • Visits may be made at a designated time in clinics specified by the medical center administration, accompanied by an adult, and must not exceed 15 minutes.
  • Visiting children (first-degree relatives) are permitted to enter the clinic after practicing hand hygiene at the entrance.
  • In the event of an outbreak (whether community- or healthcare facility-related), visits may be prohibited or visiting hours may be modified by the Infection Control Committee and/or the unit supervisor, or by the unit supervisor in the event of an emergency within the unit.
